Covid-19: Sergio Rossi, master of footwear, has died

The entrepreneur from Romagna was 85 years old, and was hospitalized at the Bufalini hospital in Cesena because of Covid-19. Unfortunately yesterday he passed away. He had recently donated 100 thousand euros to the Sacco hospital in Milan through his company.

Famous Brand for the Italian craftsmanship and quality of its products and for its elegant and very feminine design. The company has been part of the Gucci Group since 1999, both were then purchased by the French group Kering. At the end of 2015, the brand was taken by the Investindustrial fund, thus returning to being Italian.

Sergio Rossi has always been positively criticized in the fashion system, and boasts 83 boutiques worldwide. He has collaborated with top brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Azzedine Alaïa. We remember his first magnificent Newton-style advertising campaigns, for a sensual but never vulgar woman.

In 2009 the brand embraces sustainability and launches the Eco Pump, a particular biodegradable décolleté made with liquid wood in the heel and sole, and tanned leathers without the use of harmful elements. In 2015 he share the eco-sustainable Green Carpet collection thanks to the collaboration with Eco-Age.
