Alessandro Sartori presented his new menswear collection spring summer 2022 as per calendar. The collection offers items for a brand new Zegna man.
As the designer himself affirmed in a statement, they tried to combine the inherent luxury of craftsmanship with the needs of the modern world, thus adding more functional and practical details for everyday challenges.
Even the atmosphere of the (New)Set (the title of the presentation) suggests the search for a way out of everything that hinders and forces movements – a glaring example is the green maze in which the models run together – up to moments of sharing and community -the wide table around which they gather to toast together, as well as the hall of an outdoor cinema.
Just like the world that surrounds them, even the garments adapt to this need, starting with the fabrics; these, indeed, are made with recycled materials, but also with new natural vegetable fibers in full respect of the #UseTheExisting campaign.
The blazers are made of recycled nylon or padded silk, the kimonos instead present more traditional fibers such as silk, Japanese cotton and linen. Among the novelties of this collection, there is the new Italian wool, silk and linen mix called Bielmonte fabric, which creates the denim effect on sweaters and jumpsuits. We also discover a jacquard puzzle effect fabric and a “liquid” recycled wool.
The variegated fabrics are accompanied by equally varied colors; indeed, the color palette goes from soft hues, comprehending shades of green, blue, yellow and beige, amethyst, cobalt and black. The result is a successful experimentation, an exploration in search of new fluid codes for today’s men’s fashion.
