Fall 2020 Couture Collection: Guo Pei

It is called Savannah and it is the Couture collection by Guo Pei. The designer goes through the entire process of creation in the video of presentation, in order to go deeper and closer to the human and technical part of fashion – the one no one usually see from outside. Savannah recalls nature, open spaces and the animals that live there. The climatic crisis that hangs over our lives like a threatening dark cloud has made us all a little more aware, a little more attentive. A little more in love with life and its natural logic.

After inspiration, it comes the fundamental moment of a haute couture collection, which is the creation process. For Guo Pei, couture serves to show the skill of the craftsmen who work on the dresses: fashion is art. There is no doubt that Pei’s creations are, in fact, works of art. And the video is an amazing testimony of the work made in the ateliers every season.

Each item of the collection is detailed and beautifully made. The cuts are linear and simple, the colours are solid. But decorations are so lively and special that, as far as we are concerned, they make the whole priceless.
