La Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode announced the provisional calendar of the men’s and women’s fashion shows in January 2021.
Despite the pandemic, it seems that the organization has a lot of news in store, starting with the participation of Jil Sander, which for this time will miss the appointment with the Milan fashion shows.
Another 71 brands will participate in the event, and as usual, some of them will parade with a live show, while others on the digital platforms at their disposal. The event will present the fall-winter 2021 collections from 19 to 24 January; Berluti will open the show, while Celine’s collection will close the event.
Regular guests include Louis Vuitton, Dior Men, Hermès, Yohji Yamamoto, Rick Owens, Dries Van Noten, Thom Browne. In addition there will be new entries, including Arturo Obogero, Valette Studio, Basscoutur and Kidill from Japan.
Then, from 25 to 28 January, the Haute Couture SS21 will take place. At the moment some details remain to be defined, such as the way with which brands will decide to display their new creations. Also, with regard to the Haute Couture event, there will be some debuting brands including Albert Elbaz, formerly designer of Lanvin, who will debut with his project AZ Factory funded by the luxury giant Richemont. Kim Jones will also debut in the creative direction of Fendi Donna. This edition will not be short of surprises; much awaited is indeed the debut of Chitose Abe as a guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier, who retired last year.
Of course, there are places of honour reserved for Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Giorgio Armani Privé and Iris van Herpen.
