London Fashion Week: Molly Goddard SS21

Molly Goddard became worldwide famous only lately, more or less in the last couple of years. Despite her maxi and sometimes extreme creations are in line with the current taste – especially in line with a group of influencers, which build up their styles with colourful, crazy and funny pieces – pandemic and its consequences on the industry have shaken well established brands as well as small nascent ones. No surprise then if, at the beginning of the process, Goddard was doubtful about her work, fearing to lose the position she reached.
After a first, justified, hesitation, Goddard decided to do what she does best: create dreamy pieces for modern customers. Spring 2021 is indeed more vitamin than previous collections, maybe also more developed. Together with classic voluminous dresses we have printed jeans, linear dresses and a set in knitted green fabric made of a bralette and a pair of shorts.
Prints are more present than ever (flowers but also strips and Vichy) and meet the different textures of materials (organza, tulle, frills and bows). Models wear platform shoes made in collaboration with Uggs. Looks are completed with colourful oval shape bags, covered in bows, and perforated bandanas around the heads. Each look is available in total white, for who dreams of a wedding in cloudy tulle.
