Dolce & Gabbana presented its FW21/22 Menswear collection, joining forces with Farfetch, whose collaboration has been going on for several years now, but which this time finds meaning in the way the collection is conveyed. After the inauguration of the DG Digital Show, the Italian maison continues to test the different communication tools available through which to deliver the new creations.
The FW 21/22 collection is the result of experimentation, research and passion for the new, a celebration of the vision of the new generations, which precisely through the most diverse social channels now available – among the many, we have to include Tiktok, Twitch, Instagram- communicate their ideas and style.
The creative duo has been very able to combine the contemporary world through the eyes of the younger ones, managing to keep firm the pillars inherent in the brand’s DNA. To further underline the wave of novelty announced by the maison and translated into the collection, the screen in front of which the models show off the clothes, which testifies the creative thrust urged by the new generations.
The garments are versatile, it’s difficult, if not useless, to define them as a single genre even if they are included in the menswear collection. The oversized lines, the gold details, the animal prints, the makeup, suggest another music with new rhythms and not at all forced, emphasizing how the generational change is leaving behind some stigmas of the past without suffering so much.
The Dolce & Gabbana man appears as one of the symbols of this change; the clothes are functional to various activities, the elegance is mixed with comfort and more sporty cuts, (oversized jackets and sweaters, sportswear accessories, combined with golden suits and tight pants), further accentuating the rejection of pre-established canons and the beginning of something new, anything but definable. And maybe that’s the beauty of it.
