“MFW Fall 2020: Gabriele Colangelo”
It seems that refinement of shapes and materials is very fashionable nowadays: not only a passing trend, but a real change in our approach to fashion and clothing. Gabriele Colangelo has always liked to experiment with materials, textures and processes. It is this characteristic that, once again, makes a collection of basic and wearable outfits rather precious. Minimalism on the surface, which veils and at the same time enhances the meticulous research done on the production.
Thus, some pieces are handmade, to feel on the skin the depth of the manual work done by competent craftsmen – that yes, gives a totally different feeling – other garments are laser cut and others again seem three-dimensional and moving. The result is a very human and personal collection. For this reason, it is also very sensual, with glimpses of naked skin visible through the cuts and light fabrics. For Colangelo it was a collection of change, in which his linear and clean aesthetic left room for a more imaginative approach, even in the use of colours. Natural tones like beige, camel and brown dominate, combined with hints of blue, mint green and baby ash blue. A beautiful palette indeed.
