MFW FW21/22: Etro’s exoticism

As the Pre-fall collection had announced, Etro’s carefree journey continues. For the previous collection, indeed, Veronica Etro had reconfirmed her desire to go out and discover new lands, that intrinsic sense of adventure that is part of the Etro codes.
For the fall/winter 2021 collection, Etro continues this journey, through the classic paisley prints, long ruffled trousers and a color palette reminiscent of the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a safari. The basic idea is change, the fact that now there are no established rules that prohibit you from wearing something because the situation requires something else. The styles in Etro merge in an interesting combination of influences.
Among the strong pieces, there are definitely sweaters, whose exotic textures and obvious excellent craftsmanship, wrap around the silhouettes and make movements easy. Fashion, as we know, it is becoming more and more fluid, and Etro manages to keep up with the times, thanks to wide trousers, clearly influenced by menswear, the blazers that accompany them, the vests and shirts with sleeves and curled collars.
For a more sportswear cut, the designer also thought of oversized sports sweaters. The sporty cut gives way to garments with a more aggressive character, such as the skirt frayed with exotic patterns, tight clothes with a slit on the leg and the vest with balloon sleeves.
Some other strong pieces are definitely the accessories and shoes; leather boots up to the knee wear out the silhouette, especially when combined with miniskirts and shorts with paisley textures. An increasingly evident trend, are the jackets or trousers with multiple textures, sewn together like a puzzle. Etro combines this trend through quilted jackets and pants. There are animal prints, the long coat closed by a black leather belt is really the best. There are also some garments wearable in the evening, like the wonderful black velvet dress with fringes and the mini sequin dress with oriental textures, also conjugated through the tops.
