Milan Fashion Week: Fendi SS21

The Milan Fashion Week has just started in a city that, one step at a time, is coming out of a nightmare. There is a great deal of positive energies going around. On one side, the big names of the Italian fashion system, on the other several promising new-entries, who were, despite the period, able to put a collection together in time. Silvia Venturini Fendi is among the creative minds who took the best out of this situation. She has told more than once about her lockdown in Rome, with the family, spent through excursion in the garden, long talks and lunches all together. Her FF pasta and the exclusive grandmother’s pesto recipe are already a hit on Instagram.

The collection is precious. Fresh and refined, it is mainly white with touches of baby blues, orange, pink and red. It make you wishing for the sea and a bit of poetry. The green fresh leaves under which the table is made ready for a family lunch in the South of Italy became a print, which literally splashes on long tunics and blazers. Shapes are clean, elegant. Together with prints, Fendi plays with fabrics as well. There is some transparent organza, crispy cotton and fine embroideries which recall old doilies. In the final looks, the gradual escalation explodes in white down jackets and feathers, precious layers of cotton that look like fresh bed linens.

Spring 2021 collection by Silvia Venturini Fendi is a love letter and, in the same time, a sensorial picture of pure Italy, with its good and genuine things, able to leave a sweet memory to everybody visiting it.
