Milan Fashion Week: Marco Rambaldi SS21

Marco Rambaldi is another brilliant Italian designer who, not even in his thirties, has already pretty clear the vision and the ideals he wants to convey with his creations. Maybe it is because his skirt + pullover sets, with embroidered colourful hearts (from last season) – now in La Rinascente’s windows in Milan and on the wishlist of many fashionistas – speak out loud, or maybe because he seems to be gentle and sweet, but there it is that every piece tells a different love story.

Love in the very wide sense of the word, and indeed the group of models walking his latest runway in Milan is one of the best example of inclusivity so far. There were several unconventional beauties, all of them very normal. No perfect bodies, no asymmetrically sterile faces, no weird hairstyles or covering makeups. The whole asked for normality. Rambaldi’s aesthetic can recall some emergent American designers.

There is a lot of knitwear, declined in different shapes, styles and colours. There is a touch of denim, a couple of pieces in sequin. We loved the black knitwear jumpsuit, with smaller and back version of the aforementioned hearts. We also liked the final embroidered top, dress and pants, with colourful flowers. Marco Rambaldi is probably aiming to give life to a modern version of the movements of the 70s, based on the ideals of love, respect and fellowship. And why not, after all. Shoes and accessories are as well modernized hippies’ style, with leather clogs, sandals with high soles and unpretentious sneakers for your long walks in the city.
