Milan Fashion Week: Max Mara SS21

Max Mara opened the second day of Milan Fashion Week with an early runway on open air, which was also live streamed on the Camera Moda webpage. Camel is king, as usual, together with bright white, black and soft baby blue. The elegant Max Mara’s aesthetic has been declined, for the next Spring 2021, not only in relaxed suits but in more technic and street garments as well.

There are plenty of parka with coulisse on the waist, a jumpsuits loose on the shoulders and full of practical details, formal outfits composed of long blouses and skirts which are simple and utilitarian. Every piece goes perfectly with the others, forming a neutral, passe-partout and smart wardrobe. This is, actually, what women ask for right now. Suits – which are key pieces in Max Mara’s aesthetic, together with outerwear – are composed of linear top, wide pants and not very structured blazers. The catchy detail are the sleeves, open as they were capes. They are on coats, parkas, shirts but also on blazers. You can wear underneath them long tight sleeves in fine wool and you’ll be ready for mid season.

Our favorite piece is the double breast maxi coat with curled cuffs. A side note for sweaters and bomber jackets, a new unexpected touch by the brand, which wanted to add a street-detail in its otherwise extremely chic collection.
