Milan Fashion Week: N21 SS21

Last fall, on Instagram spread the hashtag #stickofbutter, which was used to label the colour block outfits in the tones of beige and cream. The very beginning of the Spring 2021 collection by N21 reminded us of it, because of the creamy looks that went down the runway – one of the only “real” runway, with a small and distanced public. Gradually, tones changed and became gray, beige and green, but also bright purple. The same fullness was anyway present, in the dialogue between fabrics, in the different lengths and in the alternative matches.
Fashion today is without rules. N21 puts formal garments with street style pieces. For example, a feather dress can be worn with a big sweater, while a precious longuette embroidered with small crystals is matched with a blue striped shirt and so on.
The collection perpetuates the already approved aesthetic of Alessandro Dell’Acqua, who constantly creates a balance between low and high, sophisticated and utilitarian. The designer is good in what he does, staying true to a style that will, for sure, fascinate the public.
