MSGM Menswear SS ’22: a summer melody

MSGM Menswear SS ’22: a summer melody

Massimo Giorgetti presented his Canone Infinito. The 2022 spring-summer menswear collection was conceived as a musical, an organic composition of symphonies.

With the soundtrack by Lorenzo Senni in the background, the collection crosses the entire span of a day on the beach, the transition from vibrant colors and brighter those of the evening, in an infinite circle, made of perpetual movements and rhythms.

Thanks to the shots taken by photographer Stephen Milner, the 90s aesthetics clearly emerges: bright colors, comfortable and light looks.

The surf shirts and the saturated color palette recall the aesthetics of the film Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo Dicaprio as the young Romeo (not surprisingly the surf shirt was a must in Verona Beach).

The handcrafted details on T-shirts and watercolor prints recall the surrounding atmosphere, the weave of lights on the sea, the clouds, the sand. Even the fabrics, show the same intent; the organic cotton gave three-dimensionality to the garments, leaving them rough as if they had been dried in the sun on purpose.

Cotton is combined with jersey, tribal motifs, shorts in lycra or jacquard, images of mermaids with stencil effect on mohair, as well as figures of crabs or shells on knitwear.

It is evident the reference to the nautical world, clearly expressed in the accessories; bandanas, the necklaces of shells, hats and sunglasses enrich the garments with a warm summer vibe. Seafaring fashion also appears in striped shorts, in raw-cut bouclé.

MSGM’s spring-summer fashion is in symbiosis with nature, in a place out of time and space, in a landscape of eternal movement and music.
