Monse’s Resort 2021 password is “deconstruction”. Patchwork and, generally, the creative reused of discarded fabrics, is a trend we have seen some other times already, but Monse takes it to a completely new level, giving life to a lively and smart collection. A real gem.
Raw denim panels are matched with camel cotton: they are used to shape alternative trench, skirts and trousers. Formal blazers have contrasting details and asymmetric cuts. Strips conquer sweaters and skirts, and explode in a creatively messed cardigan with double lacing and five different fabrics.

The entire collection’s mood – of the geometric, cleans and sunny streets where the photos have been taken too – build the base for an urban and androgen aesthetic. Even the more feminine garments, such as the tight knitted dresses or the one in golden paillettes with American neckline, are worn with solid combat boots. It is an energy we like deeply, which confirms once again that Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia’s work has its goals well in mind.
