New York Fashion Week: Tibi SS 2021
If you follow Amy Smilovic on Instagram, you probably know already her many, many contents on the perfect wardrobe. Which are not dated lists of “must-have” garments, nor a vade mecum on how to dress for different occasions. It is rather a collection go highlights and live talks where she gives thoughtful general advices that every body can then adapt to their style, life and necessities, in order to build a personal language, feel good with themselves and be always up to date with the contemporary trends. Tibi’s designer believes in a very personal approach, where comfort is a big player.
Spring Summer 2021 collection is based on few key pieces. Suits come from the male wardrobe but become a must for the modern woman. Together with it there are comfy shirts and blouses, in crispy cotton, tight body, tailor pants loose on the hips and slip dresses and round skirts. Starting from them you can give form to passe-partout outfit: Smilovic calls it “creative pragmatism”.
Details and cuts make the collection special. Not only because of the round and structured shoulders, but also in the cropped blazers, in the cut pants and in the porthole on the side of the body. In addition to that, Tibi offers a wide set of (maxi) collars and cuffs to be applied on other garments of the collection.
