Carolina Herrera, one way or another, goes with elegance. This collection was no exception. Among the many aspects that must be listed, colours are certainly at the very center, because they are so full and bright that they make every look amazing. Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli has been considered the king of the “dream palette” lately, but nobody can deny that the American Maison’s Fall 2020 competes very well.
Lines and fabrics alternate and create contrast on the bodies of the models, enhancing their feminine shapes but also “implementing” them, if you can say so, with more rigorous shapes and rather rigid fabrics. This is enough to give each piece a life of its own. In fact, the outfits are not very structured, often it is only a garment, but able to tell its own story by itself, without needing any support. So that, the results in a very clean, light collection, free from unnecessary repetition. This is what happens when design and craftsmanship achieve exceptional levels. These, after all, are the only true abilities that make a brand timeless.
It’s very difficult for us to say which are our favorite pieces. But in first place is the white organza top, so floating and full and perfectly combined with classic black trousers. The pants suits, rather than the actual clothes, are really strong and impactful. Maybe we like them because they reach a higher level of linearity and perfection, because they are truly the emblem of a polishing work that has been able to remove all unnecessary details, leaving only the essentials.
