Prabal Gurung said that for his latest fall collection he was inspired by the city of New York and the relationship he has with it. The location chosen for the event leaves no doubt: the Rockefeller Center’s Rainbow Room.
All the looks shown on the catwalk are eccentric and eclectic, made of leopard prints, floral applications and colours. New York is the city that never sleeps and Gurung wanted to give her a special dress to go out and party.
There are both rather voluminous looks, as well as simple shapes, thigh on the body. In every look, however, there is also at least one detail that enhances it. They are often applications of feathers, even whole and very graphic ones. Another recurring detail are the string of diamonds, which follows the cuts and turn a simple black dress in a very special one.
Everyday looks are not so much, but they look very good and gracious. Preciousness and movement together form the distinctive line of this collection, which reflects wonderfully with the multiform and fluid spirit of New York.
