Paris Fashion Week: Thom Browne SS21

We are in 2132 and the next Olympics games will take place on the Moon. Teams from all over the world are making ready to start: the Games will take place in a perfect reproduction of the Coliseum in Los Angeles, where the Olympics Games of 1932 were held. The blue sky actually recalls past happier period, when the Earth were still unpolluted and lively. They trained a lot in order to take part to this incredible edition of the Games and, together with the readiness, clothes are important too. Them Browne’s Spring 2021 collection is indeed the right collection for this, made of suits, shirts and outerwear that fit an interstellar journey. This is the story behind the collection and, even if we have no clue how the designer justified gravity and its effects on bodies (in a possible Moon Olympiad), we are sure that every athlete will be delighted to wear his clothes for the occasion.
Sport has always been at the center of Browne’s aesthetic. It makes sense the designer is questioning himself on the future of it. He thought about the topic according to his decisively over the top imagination, with a taste that is made of fantasy, passione and a lot of fun. All the collection is declined in different shades of white, which symbolized hopefulness. It is inspired by the 30s, in its squared blazers, tight and long coats, polo shirt and laced shoes with ankle white socks. We like a lot a midi dress which is in reality a pleated tennis skirt elongated and firmed on the shoulders with a pair of suspenders.
