PFW: Lanvin SS20

Lanvin brings a solid and very refined collection to the catwalk. In the first part the lines are very clean and the outfits are the concrete experimentation of the potential and the limits of tailoring. Maxi shapes in coats, tops and pants made from rigid and elegant fabrics. Even the colors are well defined and sharp, in this first part of the show. The outfits are composed predominantly of full shades of ultramarine blue, beige, black and white, with a hint of yellow.

A touch of street is already present however in the soft and collapsed revisitation of the bucket hats, which give a note of nonchalance to the whole and make everything lighter. The second part of the collection is decidedly more street: oversize sweatshirts on soft pants, male suits with a wide cut and pastel colors, such as pink and baby blue, denim and maxi comfortable dresses. Here the prints come into play and the colors fade into one another. On the finish Lanvin proposes some mini party dresses, light and draped on the body. Among others, there is a vaguely mystical print that recalls oriental votive designs and adds a touch of mysticism to this otherwise highly wearable collection, an example and expression of a brand with feet planted on the ground.
