PFW: Loewe Menswear SS’22

Jonathan Anderson returns to tell through a video the concept of his second collection, this time designed for the Spanish brand Loewe.

The new men’s spring/summer 2022 collection draws inspiration from the themes of works by emerging painter Florian Krewer and the photographer David Sims. Embodying messages of escapism, hope and optimism, with the new season, Anderson’s Loewe man awakens a desire to take action, go out and have fun.

A dynamic and free concept, is reflected in the proposal of gender-fluid looks that recall the 70s dance culture. “I wanted something that was incredibly glittery, something that felt like it was a prism” –

The entire line is full of different colors, cuts and shapes. One of the designer’s most used materials is ribbed cotton. Anderson plays with overlaps, as in the looks in which layers of fluorescent knitwear are worn on top of each other, highlighting the contrast between colors and silhouettes.

For the new season, is re-proposed the all-over print with the Loewe logo on long trench coats and accessories. In addition, the attention to sustainability and the continuous search for new materials, allowed the designer to use for the first time the leather extracted from cactus leaves. The vegan fabric, which is extremely soft and resistant, has allowed the designer to create incredible pants made of rope.

Among the accessories of the new collection, there are the iconic Puzzle Bag by Loewe and the very special Elephant basket.

“This season in something I want to see in a club and I think there’s nothing more appealing when you see a look that transforms your state of mind.”– said Jonathan Anderson ending the video presentation of the latest men’s collection of Loewe.
