PFW: Stella McCartney SS20
Stella McCartney’s show, which arrives at the end of the fashion month, was highly awaited. It is the first collection that the designer presents after a minority share of her brand has been purchased by LVMH.Beyond the commercial reasons that led the sale, McCartney was an affair for LVMH that can, from now on, proceed briskly towards sustainability. Together, the two fashion giants want to learn from each other and try to send a message, to industry and consumers, to make a radical change that, at this point, is necessary.McCartney’s Spring Summer 2020 is 75% eco-friendly: the most sustainable collection ever made by the brand (and the high fashion industry at large probably).
The collection is very cheerful and carefree. This, together with sustainability, is a trademark of McCartney. Summer dresses slipped and cool, plain or printed (the flower pattern is so special), alternate with color block daywear, with large blazers in natural beige tones. There is also a touch of acid-wash denim that is super cool. The accessories are equally fresh: lace-up sandals, earrings made by fabric and wood and delicious braided hats with visor. Also, maxi sunglasses with colored lenses in pastel tones: to look at the world with different eyes.
