In recent days, the Saint Laurent brand has been talked about for launching the “The Love Affair” campaign, which involves the production and sale of condoms signed by the brand.
The image of the campaign, wanted by designer Anthony Vaccarello and signed by photographer Juergen Teller, portrays a naked tattooed man, artist and model David Alexander Flinn, while in front of him is Anja Rubik, whose only shoulders are visible while she is wearing a black jacket.
This photo covers Paris with posters posted in various public places, but Instagram did not hesitate to remove it from its platform. Saint Laurent branded condoms are sold in packages with attractive graphics, from animal prints to a black and white checked print and solid black and gold. They are sold at the price of € 2 online on the ysl.com website and, although for the time being, they are not available, they are also sold in-store in the newly inaugurated Parisian concept store at 213 rue Saint Honoré, where you can find a dispenser.
The aim of the campaign is certainly to raise awareness about sexually transmitted diseases and, at a time when the debate on HIV prevention is still going, Saint Laurent has launched a product for those couples who do not give up a touch of class in the bedroom.
It is not the first time, however, that the world of fashion faces the world of condom production: in 2017, an Off White fan created customized condoms in honor of the brand, while for 2018’s pride month Alexander Wang collaborated with Trojan; lastly, one cannot fail to mention Vetements, which has created an invitation in the form of a condom for its fashion show at the latest Paris Fashion Week. Prevention has never been so fashionable!
