Sustainability: Calzedonia Group to adopt new strategies

Calzedonia implements new strategies for a more sustainable future for the group, setting long and short term objectives. The changes taking place affect the entire supply chain of the brand, and therefore not only Calzedonia but also Intimissimi and Tezenis.
The legwear and beachwear brand is therefore committed to modifying some practices in order to make them as earth-friendly as possible. This goal can be achieved by starting with the packaging with which the products are packed and shipped.
By 2025, in fact, the group is committed to eliminating disposable plastic in B2C (Business to Consumer) and B2B (Business to Business) packaging by 2030.
As for tags, shopping bags, and packaging, the brand currently uses an already FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified card. The association checks that companies comply with environmental, social, and economic standards aimed at maintaining the forests of the planet. In any case, already from 2018, the Calzedonia stores are equipped with shopping bags made with 100% recycled paper.
Another important goal will be the transformation of packaging for socks and beachwear. The packaging will go from PVC to PET, a material that is far more recyclable and less toxic in disposal.
By analyzing the data, the Group was able to find that this constant trend in 2020 will be able to save around 75 tons of plastic, equivalent to 7.5 million plastic bottles.
