Versace SS20 menswear: against gender stereotypes

Menswear collection spring summer 2020 by Versace is born as a crazy and irreverent excursus on modern man, masculinity and its borders. The runway exceeded in shocking pink, on the walls, on the floor and on the flower decorations, because pink, as we know, is the anti-male colour par excellence. Garments speak about gender fluidity, freedom and fun, for a young client, rebel inside, with no fear of challenging rules defined by society.

The dominant style and the main inspiration is anyways rock atmosphere and dark mood, chasing with the sugary set where the show was set. Lots of dark wash denim, fringes and metal details. Materials make the game even more interesting, because each look is like a rollercoaster of soft and stiff: leather and PVC, satin and denim. Animalier gives space to tie-dye, which gives space to a soft and more hippie-like pattern, in pastel colours.
