BFC cancels men’s season in January

The recent pandemic wave has temporarily slowed down the unfolding of several events scheduled for the upcoming months. For this reason, the British Fashion Council canceled the next independent men’s show initially scheduled for January 2021, whereas it has set three more dates for the next London Fashion Week.

The new dates of LFW will therefore be from February 19 to the 23rd , from June 11 to the 14th and from Septmeber 17 to the 21st. All scheduled events will include the presentations of both men’s and women’s collections.

Digital platforms still seem to be the preferred divulgation method, given the significant increase in infections. The moments of encounter will therefore be reduced to a minimum, with very few events in attendance for buyers and the press.

The organization is also thinking of a plan to virtually reach foreign buyers, obviously absent from the commitments of the fashion calendar.

BFC Chief Executive Caroline Rush declared, “As the fashion industry moves towards a more sustainable and responsible future, in line with the newly formed Institute of Positive Fashion, our goal is to continue redefine our fashion week model, embracing digital and technological innovation and at the same time offering ideas and solutions that will work for all designers’ companies. “
