For spring-summer 2021 Karl Lagerfeld has created a collection of eco-sustainable accessories in collaboration with Amber Valletta. The price ranges from €49 to €395 and can be purchased on Karl.com and Zalando.
Model and activist Amber Valletta said she was thrilled with the project: “Seeing everything take shape is a great satisfaction and an honor: I am convinced that Karl would be thrilled. I like to be able to continue its legacy – chic, bold and innovative!”
Among the pieces on sale, there is the K/Kushion bag, inspired by the travel cushion that the designer took with him on business trips and that he kept since adolescence. The bag is available in two models, the first of which is made of vegan leather derived from cactus. The second model, instead, is made of 90% recycled cotton.
The proceeds of the sales will go to the non-profit association The Ocean Cleanup to support it in the act of removing plastic from the seas. Just to counteract the spread of plastic, the collection also includes a range of accessories selected by Valletta. Among the, a recycled bottle, a card holder, wallet with zip and a clutch.
The fashion house has already joined the Fashion Pact, so it will extend its commitment to sustainability to a second collection with Amber Valletta, already in progress for the spring-summer 2022 accessories and ready-to-wear.
