Alex Breaux on acting, change and New Beginnings

When we watch a film — or a TV Series — we rarely stop to think about the people behind the characters. About the fact that they are actors, with their own lives, thier own histories. Like anyone else, they’ve moved through uncertainty, moments of fragility, and experiences that may have pushed them to change direction along the way.

For Alex Breaux, that moment happened far from a film set, in the world of finance, when he realized that the most vibrant parts of his life were being pushed to the margins of his everyday routine. From there came the decision to leave it all behind and pursue acting.

Today, that same attentiveness — shaped in part by his experience as an outsider — sits at the core of his work: characters built on contrast, unpredictable, never fully readable.

In Stranger Things, where he plays Lt. Robert Akers, that tension between reality and imagination finds its place within a powerful visual world — one that can make even the most surreal elements feel tangible.

This editorial also marks his first-ever photoshoot: a new, more exposed experience, where — without the filter of a character — a different kind of authenticity begins to surface.

In his approach to acting, everything seems to start from there: a gradual, almost imperceptible movement closer to the character, until the distance begins to dissolve.
