Dolce & Gabbana ready-to-wear SS 2022

When you are about to see a fashion show of a new collection of Dolce and Gabbana you have a certainty: the garments will be many. Many. And here in fact, 103 looks were on the catwalk ready to make us dizzy.

It wasn’t an extreme waste of fabrics, though, as many initially thought. Many garments have in fact been made in upcycling, thanks to the purchase of vintage pieces. This passage to reuse, slower for some than for others, is now in the first place a duty to the planet. And secondly, however, it collects the general need for savings that everyone has in this post-pandemic time that we are experiencing.

Here too, as in many other collections we have seen in the previous days, we have found a great return to the desire for party and fun. Sensuality, exposed underwear, glitter and transparent dresses were not unrelated to Dolce and Gabbana at all, who therefore find themselves happily “wallowing” in the trends of next spring / summer.

For this show they took a great inspiration from their shows in the 2000s, years in which the brand was at its peak, with pomp at the top of the common desire. The location was filled for the occasion with large mirrors, countless spotlights and crystals that made the entry of each model like the opening of a top style music video.

The designers said they were positive about the post-pandemic and eager for light and life. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to turn to younger customers, the real flag bearers of the “team party” who can better represent the desire to return to fun.
