Etro Ready-to-Wear SS22

According to Veronica Etro, this next spring-summer 2022 is an explosion of colors. The collection, indeed, aims at celebrating the free spirit of the 70s and the nostalgic one of the 90s.

The designer’s initial idea was meditation and yoga; these are disciplines that perhaps we all approached during lockdown, looking for a way to spend the endless days. And why not, to try to reconnect with our selves at a time when the world seemed gone crazy.

Veronica Etro felt the same thing, and then joined the meditative practice with the memory of the Beatles and their spiritual retreat in 1968; moreover, that was the year of the foundation of Etro as well. The designer herself confirmed that: “in this period I came really close to mindfulness, yoga and meditation. There was a spiritual awakening, like for many people, I think. This thing of finding balance within, that was also very typical of the early ’70s”.

So, the models have tread the catwalk showing off looks on which paisley prints reign supreme, accompanied by a color palette sparkling and cheeky. All this explosion of abstract colors and shapes is accompanied by the prints of the tree of life and embroidery depicting the mandala along with the Zoroastrian motif, symbolizing fertility.

The collection branched into chiffon dresses and denim, minidress and palace pants. Inevitable knit tops and cycling shorts, two trends on the crest of the wave. Moreover, even the slip dresses on which stands out a patchwork of the mandala.

In addition, very interesting are definitely the skirts and tops in metallic mesh, bucket hats, track pants and padded bomber jackets, for a casual-chic look.

The result of the spring-summer 2022 collection is a perfect mix of vintage and nostalgia, which accompanies us in a new historical period to discover.
