Milan Fashion Week: Emilio Pucci SS21

Emilio Pucci started a new chapter of its story not even a year ago, with a bright new creative team ready to give new life to the Italian brand. It was once a flagship of Made in Italy and we hope to see it finding its path again or, at least, finding a new road to take, always remembering where it came from. In this sense, the latest Spring 2021 collection is freely inspired by archive pieces of the brand. Prints are protagonist, for obvious reasons, but there are also some colour-block. Shapes and cuts recall Emilio Pucci’s years as designer as well.

Looks follow each other becoming more and more engaging while the lookbook goes on. They are clean and essential, also because reduced in number (something we appreciate, not the other way around). Mini dresses with flowers’ prints, modern set composed of bralette and pencil skirts, long and wide pants matched with foulard knotted around the neck (in real 60s’ style)  but also shorts and soft blouses. Several looks play on the idea of transparency with the contrast between ultra light garments and coloured stockings.

The collection, in its essentiality, gave us beautiful and unexpected feelings, and we hope this is just the beginning of a long story. Maybe Emilio Pucci has really found the perfect balance between escapism and practicality everybody is so anxiously looking for right now.
