There are elements that unify, in one way or another, the presentations seen so far on the Menswear Fashion Week digital platform.
Several French designers were inspired by the street and everyday life. Not the ones of the luxury districts of Paris, but rather the suburbs, not very clean and with little bit of nature around. In the BlueMarble video presentation, escapism becomes total when the guys protagonists of the collection leave the city and navigate the river on a small motor boat. To be continued… we read on the screen, because storytelling has become essential and clothes are no longer enough, we want a context in which to insert them.
Those of BlueMarble are tailored trousers and slightly oversized sweatshirts. Striped t-shirt and t-shirt with vintage prints, very wide trousers and floral shirts reminiscent of hippies’ attire. Many scarves, knotted at the neck or behind the neck, become real hats. And then sunglasses with coloured lenses, big bags and vaguely retro shoes. In short, it’s like shopping in a cool Parisian vintage shop, with a great selection and a great deal of personality. Now that we are (almost) totally free to go out and get together, a relaxed and funky look is a must.
