Some of you have probably seen, on social networks, the presentation of the new Fall-Winter 2021 collection of Loewe by JW Anderson. For this season, the creative director decided to print a real, old-style newspaper, entirely focused on Loewe with photographs, captions, texts and everything necessary. The idea comes from the collaboration with Danielle Steel, the incredibly successful American writer who collaborated on the project: she defined the idea funny and smart, declaring that today she is more than ever attracted to light things, in a world that it is far too serious. The collection moves on the same tracks – and once again the medium is perfect for the message!

Just as a “serious” thing like the newspaper was put at the service of fashion, distorting its canons and usual themes, so the incredibly sumptuous rooms of Le Train Bleu, the Parisian restaurant used as the background for the shooting, hosted a crazy and colourful, definitely over the top collection. JW Anderson said he was inspired by colour therapy: colours have an effect on our mood, and bright and intense ones make us happy. Looking at the shots is, in fact, a lifting experience.

Wearing an electric blue suit with applied white pompoms puts wings on your feet, quite literally. Not only the colours, however, but also the shapes and decorations are designed to bring joy. The aforementioned pompoms, maxi buckles on dresses, bodices and belts, are all part of the scenography. Watch out for shoes: crocodile loafers with maxi platform are already a trend!
