PFW: Miu Miu FW21
The fall/winter 2021 collection by Miu Miu combines a group of women, a collective of experiences and inspirations for a journey at the feet of a snowy mountain. The versatility of shapes and the union of different histories and cultures, has enriched the collection with interesting styles and combinations.
On the snowy, ethereal streets of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the models walk against the background of a dreamlike landscape, symbol of escape and wonder.
Clothes become an instrument of protection – it is easy today to guess the reason why- against a seemingly inhospitable climate. Manifestation of this intention is certainly the wool accessory that hides part of the face and covers the head, in different shades.
The sporty and casual style mixes on evening dresses that fall tight on the silhouette. The mini skirts are paired with maxi boots covered with faux fur, certainly protective against the cold and bad weather but perhaps a bit ‘uncomfortable for a walk in the snow.
The Mountain Club collection inspires courage, community and a sense of sharing. The dress becomes the manifestation of this spirit of adventure, conjugated through pastel colors, and maxi down jackets for an enveloping protection, but also through crystals, fake fur with animal print, and sequins. The soft and delicate colors are combined with brown and black coats with studs and pearls on the straps, which give more dynamism and adrenaline.
Distinctive are the beige pants covered in fake fur, as well as shoes, boots and sneakers and knitted gloves over the elbow, for total protection. Miu Miu’s fall/winter 2021 collection plays on contrasts, on the combinations of materials and colors that inspire peace and quiet, alongside other more aggressive and contemporary stylish pieces. On the other hand, as the title suggests, Brave Hearts perfectly embodies the many facets and contradictions of a strong soul.
