For the spring pre-collection 2021, Ferragamo prepared a video which was then broadcasted on the CNMI channel. The digital format came as no surprise, since like the Florentine brand, others have also opted for this alternative.
The video, however, was not limited to presenting the collection, on the contrary, it provided viewers with storytelling on the brand’s precious heritage, thus creating a temporal continuity from its origins to today. “Through the video, we want to create a choral representation of the Salvatore Ferragamo’s universe; to affirm who we are, our roots, but also to celebrate those characteristics, such as the ability to face with strength and inspiration the challenges that the present reserves, which have made our founder unique. ” CEO Micaela le Divelec Lemmi commented. “A message of strength not only for us but for everyone.”
Paul Andrew’s creations are the mirror of contemporary fashion. Recycled materials such as leather, cashmere, nylon, and organic cotton dominate the entire collection. The minimal and soft cuts and neutral colors combine with animal prints and perforated fabrics, creating interesting contrasts.
“Before the lockdown, I already had in mind to deepen my knowledge of the Scandinavian design of the mid-twentieth century.” Paul Andrew said, “The inspiration came by itself: functionalism inspired by nature and characterized by clean lines, organic materials, minimalist structure and the relative absence of decorations are all canons that already had a strong affinity with the constraints to which we were subjected.”
