Paris Fashion Week: Y/Project SS21

As it has been for the menswear collection presented last July, the womenswear by Y/Project for the Spring 2021 was built on the versatility’s concept. We means that each piece is more than one and, thanks to smart zips, coulisse and buttons, it can change and transform in something different, depending on who wears it and depending on the day. Together with the lookbook there is, also in this case, an explicative video which suggest how to arrange the garments. Then we are free to create.

Looking at the pictures, the collection is an ensemble of layers, collars and flounces. It is a rather elegant collection, probably because of the several feminine and delicate details. The aforementioned flounces but also big collars and the very thin lace on the thighs – in black, which is always sensual, and in white, which is very interesting and goes straight to our wishlist. Of course, street wear is a dominant characteristic in Y/Project. The mix of the two world is engaging.

The collection creates emotions in the audience, and this is the real goal that Glenn Martens wanted to reach. Today more than ever, people want to feel something, they chose what to wear according to the message they want to communicate and, for this very reason, they want to be part of the process of creation of their clothes. Y/Project’s collection gives us exactly this possibility and it is, once again, surprising.
